Four Memphis bakeries from their own sites: Muddy's on Broad Avenue, Lucy J's at Crosstown, LuLu's on Poplar and Frost at Laurelwood, with hours.

Last checked 2026-10-18. Refreshed every three months.

The Memphis bakeries we could confirm are in Midtown, on Broad Avenue and inside Crosstown Concourse, and along Poplar Avenue out to the Laurelwood shopping center in East Memphis. For ice cream, gelato and candy, see our ice cream and desserts list.

How we made this list. The places come from OpenStreetMap records inside the Memphis city limits, the same records behind our local business directory, checked against each place’s own website on Oct. 18, 2026. Frost Bake Shop was added from its own site, which gives a Memphis street address; its stores in Collierville and Lakeland are left out. Many doughnut shops and bakeries in our records have no website of their own or a site we could not read, so they wait for the next check. The list is alphabetical; it is not a ranking or a recommendation, and nobody paid to be on it. Run a Memphis bakery? Write to us to be added or to correct your entry.

The places

Frost Bake Shop calls itself a home of scratch-made desserts. Its East Memphis shop is in the Laurelwood Shopping Center, and it offers local pickup, DoorDash delivery in the Memphis area and cake shipping nationwide.

Lucy J’s Bakery bakes breads, croissants, cookies and special-event cakes from scratch in its shop at Crosstown Concourse. It works with the Dorothy Day House and hires parents who are leaving, or have left, homelessness, with the aim of paying a living wage.

LuLu’s Cafe and Bakery on Poplar Avenue makes plant-based food, cakes, pastries and sourdough bread, sourcing from Memphis-area farmers and makers where it can. It brews coffee from Boycott Coffee, a Memphis roaster. It is open four days a week.

Muddy’s Bake Shop on Broad Avenue has been baking since 2008. Every pre-order is made to order with at least two days’ notice, and the shop sells walk-in during open hours.
